Wouldn't that be covered under our warranty. It's only a 2009...
If not, talk my garage at ms auto in markham.

what is the abs problem?
i have a silverado and im having the 'common abs issue' where the abs activates at low speeds under 20km/h coming to a stop
theres 3 fixes for a silverado:
replace the wheel speed sensors
remove and clean the wheel speed sensors
replace the whole hub assembly which comes with a new wheel speed sensor
so what happens to your civic?

A price can not be given until it has been diagnosed and a problem to the abs has been identified. Have you read the codes to the abs light yet, that would be a good start? As mentioned, is this not covered under warranty?

maybe op was confused or turned down because brakes are wear and tear. stand your ground and say ABS is not wear and tear. only disks and pads are.

Bill Gardnier addressed this problem http://www.motoringtv.com. in 2009 episode 1.
My Dad's 2002 GMC pickup truck does this also. Just have get around to fix it.

What does that mean? Why did youmention a Civic?
What is the problem with the ABS? Light comes on? The brakes pulse like ABS is engaged? ABS does not engage? Brakrs pulse and the light comes on? Brakes pulse but no light?
Are you like.... 12 years old? If you want a problem solved, describe the problem but then again if you are a kid and don't drive, you probably only heard Mommy complain to Daddy.

when i try to brake the ABS light goes on, is starting to be like this for few days is unusual it never went on like this way when i had the car since 99, after giving gas over 20km the ABS light kicks in.When i try to brake like stop position it goes to "choking" position than full stopped.
seem like something loosen in the brake component
my mother is the one driving the car so i am clueless whats going on. so far that's what i know from this car.

So, you did have it checked?
And they found the problem?
And you got it fixed?
And now you want to know if someone else had the same problem?
Is that about it?
So you don't have an issue any more but you want us to guess what was wrong and you can tell us if we guessed right or not?
Exactly what do you want?

answer you first question: the guy who check the suv told me over the phone what's wrong with the vehicle but i do not trust that guy
second question : no they are charging a bit expensive for something wrongs with the ABS and linked with something else about the suspension or the brake component. i am very new to the brake area whats causing the ABS light goes on and chok while i brake to a full stop
well obvious i want to find out if someone here had similar problem on their vehicle. and the cost of repair that's my main question on this forum to be answer
yeah, that's about it
why i want to play a guessing game? is pointless to do such thing.
the main point for opening this forum is wanting recommendation repair shop and the PRICE/COST i need to pay for

Normally when there is a problem with an ABS system (which is related to the brakes) a light will come on in the dashboard (normally yellow). Once the ABS light has come on even if it goes off again there will be a code stored in your cars computer so that it can be retrieved at any time unless the battery has been disconnected for what ever reason or it's been deleted by way of a scanner. I would recommend that you have someone scan the ABS codes to find out what the code is (if not already done) to allow diagnostics to begin. When a code has been retrieved it will reference a specific or series of troubleshooting diagnostic which we as members can help you with. While the code is being retrieved I would recommend that you write down the code(s) as well as any other information at hand and have the tech or friend delete the code. If the problem returns the code will once again be stored in memory. There may also be more then one code stored so keep a record of any or all of them.
A normal scanner can not retrieve abs code, it would have to be an enhanced scanner such as a tech 11 or equivalent.
At this point your question re "has this happened to anyone before", is not relevant since you have not identified the exact code/part in need of repair/diagnostic conclusion etc. so we are unable to help at this point based on lack of specific information. Keep in mind that there are many components to an abs system such as speed sensors to ABS module even as simple as low fluid level in the reservoir that can create a problem therefore since each component is different it can dramatically changing the price to repair and or diagnose.
Good Luck.

As Maymybonneliveforever said, the ABS system is very complicated and has lots of inteaction with the other systems in th car. I asked you if you were playing a guessing game or what you want because there is no simple answer.
Yes, it is expensive to fix a car. The cost of the speciauized tools and test equipment is ewxpensive and someone has to pay for it. That someone is always the customer.
When you want answers and then are asked specific questions about your problem, that is the only way your issues may be explored and perhaps answered.
Bottom line here is that it is the braking system and should, for everyones safety, get fixed. Costly? Yes but, that is the price of driving todays cars.
One thing that is important to know is if the ABS fails, your braking reverts to normal, non ABS brakes. You will still have brakes but just not the anti-lock feature.

+1 :arrowu:
Could be, from my experience:
1. Wheel bearing is shot
2. Dirty hub sensor
3. Brakes
4. Unknown computer problem
It will easily cost about $500 to fix this issue, that is if, you get quality products and a shop for install. With exception to brake pads of course.

Definitely take it in to the shop and get a computer diagnosis. Possibly it's a wheel sensor, which would be the cheapest thing to fix. They do fail. Unfortunately you can't guess which one(s), nor can you easily pull them and check by appearance (the act of pulling them often causes failure). It's best to check them by disconnecting from the computer, spinning the wheel, and reading the pulses.
But often the failure is the ABS computer itself. I have a BMW that has an unfortunate design flaw: for a few years they tried moving the ABS computer to the engine compartment and placed it a foot away from the hot exhaust manifold. Naturally it's prone to heat failure - so much so that there are a couple of outfits on Ebay that specialize in recycling these ABS computers. Mine has only failed once (knock wood), at a cost of $1500 to replace. BMW never admitted to a design flaw (have they ever?), but after a couple of years they moved the ABS module again and the problem went away.

okay so far my mother took the car to this chinese shop got an estimate for ABS which quote her for $800.00, after diagnostic in his shop he told my mother that the ABS is definitely went wrong and other ABS component LOL,,,
additional $600.00 so grand total for the fix is $1400.00 CASHY PRICE
so he didn't give me exactly what's going on and told me this is the cost for repair. $1400.00 for a 12 years old LEXUS

The age of the vehicle is irrelevant when it comes to prices of parts and labour. The key is, do you want to spend that money on it.
Be aware, while the braking system reverts to normal if the ABS fails, there may be a lot more wrong with the brakes than just the ABS. You probably need new brakes (rotors, calipers, pads and perhaps sensors) on that 12 year old Lexus SUV.
Brakes are not cheap so the guy is most likely bringing your old 12 year old brakes back up to spec. Probably needs it.

The car with the least electro-nannies and best fuel economy wins. I'd also prefer to not have power windows, but even that is tough.

The ABS modules (EBCM) are indeed very expensive to replace and often well over $1,000 from a dealer. If you ever have one fail there are several shops that rebuild them at a fraction of the price. I sent mine off to Module Master over 2 years ago for repair and it's been fine ever since.
