Bump... sale is live!

Is it? I had a number of books in my shopping cart and the price doesn't seem to have adjusted in my cart or on the site (i.e. still appear to be pre-Boxing Day prices).

I'm not sure if it is. Their website states it'll start at 9am EST. Also, the sale is supposed to be an additional 50% off their price for all books. Right now most items are just 50% off the list price.

Is it? Everything is still the same price as yesterday and not discounting the additional 50%
Wonder if there is a "time zone" difference, since it is already 9am here...

There's a good selection online. I'll stop by the actual store if I can this week, but after my online purchase I'm satisfied.

Ordered 9 items, just under $30 all in :D - at least, that's what it showed at the "Purchase Summary" page and in my cart until that point.

However, right after I entered my credit card info and they charged my card, the final page indicated the total was just under $60. Hopefully just a website glitch. Created a ticket - hopefully they'll adjust the amount soon. :(

had the same problem earlier today. I just went back to the main page, checked out again and the total was adjusted the second time around

I have a coupon code for $7 off ($35+)
code: CA-2J63B49
password: bookcloseouts

"this is your unique coupon code, valid only for a one time use.. .. blah blah. expires mar 31,2012. enter this coupon code and password into your shopping cart ..."

not sure if this works with the current boxing day sale but,
I wont be using it, so whoever uses it -- if you can please thank me, or post that you used it

Have had a bookcloseouts account for years and could not for the world get the 50% to work...My mistake I was at the .com site :) As soon as I switched to the .ca site it worked. However could not get the coupon to work for the extra $7. Bought 12 books (original price about $300 for a total of 80 (this includes, shipping handling and GST... not bad :)

I placed an order with them at the end of November - shipping was free at the time with an order over $35. I've checked many of the books against their current listings, and the price hasn't changed.

Never heard of these guys before. Are these prices for used (or damaged) books? Hard to imagine them being new for these prices.

Their books are like brand new, except for the ones marked in the Scratch and Dent category. I've purchased from them numerous times over the years.

No idea why they can sell it for so low. But with a lot of books that are older (this is what they specialize in), there's not demand for them, it's just consuming warehouse space. In a way, books are a depreciating asset, so they must have some type of business plan worked out.

Great prices but the shipping is atrocious at $15 for 4-5 small books.

true shipping is not cheap, but i found 2 books i wasn't able to find anywhere else - amazons, bn, bookdepository...
plus books are dirt cheap and that offsets the shipping cost somewhat, 11 books = 41.85 total and some are hardcovers...

Just as a follow-up, they replied to my ticket and adjusted the price this morning to the sale price. Prompt & efficient customer service!

Nothing yet here. During their black friday sale, it took them a little over 2 weeks to ship my order, plus an another 2 days or so for shipping.
