I am in need of a cheap point and shoot. It would be used at work for group shots probably only a couple of times per month. There would be multiple users.
I bought a really cheap Rollei off eBay which I can produce decent shots with but no one else seems to be able to. Since I am often in the picture or simply not present I need to find another option.
The Rollei was $25. Anyone have any ideas in the $50-$75 range.
Thanks

Hi,
Wouldn't have killed you to search this forum before posting?

If the camera is only used a couple times a year, couldn't one of you guys bring a camera from home to use for the occasion? Maybe you should also buy a cheap tripod, then you can all be in the pictures:D

I knew of that thread but I really thought it was about kids cameras as there seem to be a whole lot of Disney type cameras. My use is different and quite specific. Only indoor photos with flash. Sorry if I offended you or others but I did not want to hijack a thread in a different direction.
I just need something that anyone can pop over to my desk and ask to borrow it.

Its cheaper, but I think its going to be hard to get top of the line ones from a few years ago in the price range the buyer is seeking ($50-$75). I already looked for myself.
Anyhow, I think the buyer could just look on boxing day and see if he can get a door crasher special at Best Buy or Future Shop, etc for $69 range.
This Nikon S2500 looks good at $69, it has lithium battery (so you don't need to buy batteries) and it has a little bit of internal memory so the buyer may not need to buy a memory card because he says he is just taking a few of group shots at the office.

This sale is online only so the buyer doesn't even need to leave home, shipping is free over $20.

I might might just buy the Nikon at FS. I am not keen on standing in any lines so the online shopping has a real attraction.
Thanks to all.

I think that sale is only good till the end of Dec.25. so you may want to buy now.
If you change your mind or you don't like it I think you should be able to return it.

What about a cell phone camera?

What about a cell phone camera?
I am not always around when they need the camera but I am the keeper of it. Cellphone does not work in those circumstances. I have been looking at both used and new but have not bought anything yet.
I have been looking at the photos taken and some are quite good with the Rollei and others are poor. It may well be the operators. I need something with image stabilization.
The Rollei was really cheap under $30 and it should have served the purpose.
Anyway thanks for the advice. My quest continues.

With a flash I don't think you need a image stabilization.
who is paying for the camera ?
