I have a few suggestions for the front page of the forums involving how the forums are titled. I am not sure if anyone else has noticed these. Perhaps it is just me that is slightly bothered by them. Can an admin comment on any of these, and possibly consider some changes for the better of the community?
1) "Buy, Sell and Trading Post"
- This is the only forum title that has the world "and" in it. All the other forums use a "&" sign. Can we have a bit of consistency here and change the "and" to an "&" sign, in order to make the forums look more professional?
2) "Green / Eco-Friendly"
- Similar to the above, this forum uses a "/" instead of an "&" sign. Since "Green" and "Eco-Friendly" are two entirely seperate things (it is possible to be either one without being the other), can we have the "/" replaced with an "&" sign?
3) "Past Promotions/Archives"
- Same as above, no need for a /. "Past Promotions" is not the same thing as "Archives", so an "&" sign is more appropriate than a "/".
4) "Motor Vehicles & Accessories"
- I have questioned the need for the word "& Accessories" in this category. I completely 100% understand the intent (no need to argue the intent with me, I "get it". My issue here is, we could add the word "& Accessories" to many categories. For instance, "Pets & Accessories". The "Pets" forum isn't just to discuss "Pets", but also pet accessories (dog bowls, food, etc.). Yet, that forum is simply titled "Pets" and it works. I would suggest changing the title of this forum simply to "Motor Vehicles", and then, in the sub-description (which is what it is intended for), it can be clarified that the forum also includes discussion about motor vehicle accessories.
5) "The Welcome to RedFlagDeals.com Forum"
- This is the longest titled forum on RFD, and I can't quite figure this one out. What is the need for the "The" at the beginning, and the "Forum" at the end? We could add those two words to any of the forums, for instance "The Hot Deals Forum", or "The Off-Topic Forum". My suggestion would be to change the title of this forum simply to "Welcome to RedFlagDeals.com". In my opinion, this one definitely needs to be changed, as it looks very out of place and odd.
6) "Request-A-Deal"
- Maybe someone on this forum with an English degree can add to this, but the hyphens don't look correct and the "A" surely should not be capitalized. Are hyphens appropriate in this case? Just searching the web, I see that a similar forum (fatwall*t) has a same forum titled "Request a Deal", no hyphens and a small "a". To me, this seems more appropriate. Can we look into this? Would hate to see a US deal forum having better spelling than us.
Thank you for the considerations.
