Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, etc. blu ray prices are all still pretty high. I havn't seen them drop to like $15 levels and below. Thor/Captain America, pretty obvious why since its still under a year.

But other movies like X-Men First Class, went down to $15 and that movie came out only like 7 months ago.

Any thoughts as to the rationale behind that?

I would guess it's just based on how well those films are still selling. And they were all (in my opinion) great movies. Can't wait for Avengers.

X-Men was from Fox and their titles tend to drop in price fairly quickly. Warner is another studio that tends to drop their pricing. All the other movies you mentioned are from Paramount.

Well that sucks. I've been waiting for Iron Man 2 on BluRay to drop.

Yeah, different studios have different pricing of selling their library. Im been waiting for Iron Man/Iron Man 2 to drop as well so that i can pick up the regular issue BD and sell off the steelbooks.

Paramount is like that. The Star Trek stuff never seems to drop in price. Thay are a good company for making you pay extra...

Not a huge drop but the 3-disc Iron Man 2 blu ray dropped this week from $32.99 to $28.99 at Future Shop making it the same price as the 1-disc version. I expect the 1-disc version should drop soon.

Old price showing $32.99 on Jan 8: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:kI01dMrTPFwJ:www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/iron-man-2-2010-blu-ray-blu-ray-dvd/m2181833.aspx+iron+man+2+bluray+future+shop&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ca

My solution to getting these high priced marvel movies to drop in price = craigslist/kijiji. Not ideal and takes a bit of luck, but i was able to snatch up Iron Man 2 (3 disc edition) for $10, and it was in mint condition with the slip case. Guess it just depends on if you find the right person looking to get rid of it for cheap.

Also picked up G.I. Joe and Star Trek for $10 as well from the same guy :)

Here's my current blu-ray collection:

To stop myself from going crazy, i limited myself to certain rules when it comes to blu ray buying:
- only buying my favourite action movies (not comedies, dramas, etc.)
- only buy if i can get it for $10 or less, or in some cases slightly over $10

Everything in that list I was able to get for $10 or less :)....around 52 movies, average price is $7.XX after taxes. Dont know how some people can afford to buy blu-rays when they release at like $30 price points :S. I'm not ballin' like that haha.
