So my daughter went to get a parking pass for January to April and it's all full (parking Garage). There is a 1 year waiting list! But yet when my daughter takes the car and pays for the day there are TONS of parking spots !! I don't get that???? Besides the fact the $900.00 a year parking is totally RIDICULOUS! What do you all think.

$900 a year!!?? That is absolute insanity. UWO is less than $500.
As for why they stop selling passes at a certain point, I'm sure there's a reason for it. Likely at peak capacity, they don't want to turn away people who have bought a pass and are basically guaranteed a spot.

Those empty spaces you see are for visitors and occasional drivers.
Some days they can get quite full.

There are 3 garages, she could try another one. Or there are other lots that are pretty close to the campus core.
$900 is a lot, but it is a self-funded ancillary service (no tuition or grant dollars can go to it).

If you go to school 4 days a week, that's about $7 a day for the school year... how is $900 a year ridiculous? $7 for parking right next to your classes... all day... and I'm being conservative here... most people go to school more often than that and the permit gives you any day any time parking....

If taking a bus is not too long she should seriously consider bussing to school.
I gave up on driving because i refuse to pay that much ...besides i saved way more anyway in long run..100 bucks for bus pass unlimited...or pay parking fees/insurance/gas...um the decision was easy for me.

why does your daughter need to park in a garage? walk her ***** outside and park in one of the outer lots. cheaper too.

Public transit is plentiful at York university? Why isn't your daughter using that.

Founders parking lot is the place to park. Best price and most of you can just buy peoples day pass for half price.

Today, I used my friend's parking permit to park my car at York University. I got a ticket with $300, which shows "Disp perm/pass/stub obtd unauth", and also leaves a note requiring my friend seeing the parking office. I am wondering if my friend should go to the parking office, this ticket must be paid by me or my friend. Of course, if my friend has to pay it, I will take it. By the way, my car was not registered at York University. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

York has the parking space but they wont some of the space general public to private because they make way more money by having private parking limited. It costs way more to park everyday for 8 months and pay daily than to buy a 8month pass.
