So I go to UTSC, and I am currently in a Biology major, but I want to now switch over to specialize in Management Finance. I probably don't have the GPA to get into the POST, so am I not allowed to take any upper year management courses? Do I have to stay in my Biology major, get my GPA up to a 3.8+ before I can switch and start working on the prerequisites for that specialist? Thus completing my degree in maybe 6-7 years if I wish to go down this road?
Thanks for any insight.

Some programs have restrictions on courses. Some courses available for certain posts and some have GPA requirement to take the course.
Some programs deny admission if one has completed a certain percentage of their degree. you need to speak with academic advising.

I made this exact change last year. Just start taking mata32, mata33, ecma04, ecma06, mgta03, and mgta04. Gpa needs to be over 2.75 for consideration, and you need to have under 10 full credits. A GPA of 3.3 will guarantee acceptance. Im on my phone and dont have the link, but if you google utsc management after first year, youll get the utsc mgmt webpage with all the instructions. Good luck.

This is why people should really think about what they want to do with their lives BEFORE going to university. No offense to OP as I'm guilty of this myself, but it's a classic realization that some people make too late, so just want to save people headache!

Mayhaps, but if your heart is really in it you won't let the pay dictate whether you should stay in it or not.

Tell that to the physics/chem/bio grads who are offered salaries near 20k and see what they have to say.

I have been in this exact same position before, and I have had to change my major from Comp Sci to Management. Unfortunately I did not make the cut off GPA, so I settled for a double major in Econ and English. I think my decision to go into the double major is the best decision I have made. In your case, I suggest consulting the Career Advising Center because a major change may affect your will to graduate in time.

U of T website says that they guarantee a $2000 entrance scholarship for a 92% average.
How is the average calculated exactly?
Can anybody post some experiences with this (average, amount etc)
