I was watching an old episode of Who's Line is it Anyway? and I realize how much of a fun game it is if you get a few friends inside a cold day, a cup of hot cocoa, and some improv.

Are there any board games or card games that have scenarios, characters, etc. ? I was thinking that it would be great as a mobile app with a character/scenario generator.

Though games like Props/Make a Date with a hat, etc. won't work as well.

Charades?

There are lots of category games like Scattegories that let you stretch your imagination to come up with unique answers. Even Balderdash satisfies that.

Another game you can play is called "Bowls" or "Salad Bowls". It's good for a larger group. I've never seen the rules formalized before, but this comes close: http://www.wikihow.com/Play-the-Salad-Bowl-Game. All you need is 3 plastic bowls, some pens and paper.

As far as the Theatre Sports games that they play on the show, I don't think they'll translate to much fun without an audience. Here's a list for you: http://improvencyclopedia.org/games/index.html
