Swimming Goggles

I bought a pair of goggles from sportschek and the rubber around the lens ripped off in less than a month. These ones fogged up a lot too so i had to always rub off the fog everytime.

Anyone here know where i can get some cheap priced, good quality ones. If not, some affordable ones that are good quality?

I don't have an answer for you but I had the same issue with goggles bought from Sportchek.

Let it be a lesson to anyone else not to bother with the goggles they sell.

Buy ones that are made in Japan. I've been using mine since I was little (like 6 years old) and it's still good today.

My advice is to NOT rub the goggles to clear the fog. You'll degrade the coating even more, which will make them fog even worse.
If you know which model fits you, I usually find decent prices on Amazon.

If you don't know, then you need to actually try out some in the store. Some people are ok with most goggles, but I have a weird face: I had to try at least 10 different models before I found one that fits. It definitely wouldn't work for me if I bought sight unseen.

The store I went to is called Swim & Sports in Mississauga. I find their prices are reasonable, and they will give you a 10% discount if you just say you're training for a team or race.

I picked up a set for Speedo Hydrospec's and they have been fantastic! No fogging, leaks after significant abuse. The foam lined ones are useless Value does not equal low cost.

Learned this from Scuba, cover the inside of your goggles with a layer of saliva and they will be fog free!

I've used many types of goggles over the years. It depends on your face. But if you like the rubber type that suctions to your face, the best goggles are the speedo vanquishers. Someone said hydrospex but it doesn't have an adjustable bridge. It can get uncomfortable if your face isn't a specific shape.
The Vanquishers range from $16.99-$24.99. Depending on the store. Sportchek prices them at $24.99 which is a ripoff.

I owned mine for many years. Never broke, cracked, or ripped. If I needed to replace them, it was only because I lost them.
Make sure your rinse and gently dry them after use. It keeps the antifog longer.
Spitting into the lens will work. But you can buy a small bottle of the antifog solution and reapply on your lenses.

I'll second the Speedo Vanquishers recommendation -- I've had mine for a few years now, and they are reliable for swimming indoors and in open water.
