Hey guys, just throwing out some awareness for dealtickers newest tablet deal.
http://www.dealticker.com/product.php?product_id=17953&city=Barrie
DO NOT BUY THIS!!!
I wanted to make sure everyone knew to stay away from this, and from my experience I have yet to see a tablet group deal that wasn't a complete rip off.
This tablet, which is the ainol novo 7 (I'm sure some of you already realise the scam) is a tablet that sells for roughly $100. What the site has done is ramp up their normal price to nearly $600 and then give a "group deal" bringing it down to $169.
I see 7 people have already bought this thinking it is an amazing deal. So please, if buying a tablet or any product via group deals ALWAYS check other sites to see how much they normally sell for.

Not really a rip off. But it's not really a good deal either. Around boxing week there was a deal for I think $80 for a tablet. It was an overstocked old model but hey, it's $80.
Deal sites do this all the time. It's hardly ever the 50% or whatever it is they advertise. If it's a service, you usually end up having to pay extras. If it's a restaurant, you end up paying tax and tip. So I don't see why you need to raise a lot of red flags. I think the proper definition of "rip off" is being overcharged or getting a product that is not as advertised. Neither of these apply here.

So being charged $169 for a $100 tablet isn't being overcharged? Especially when you think your getting 75% off the actual price?
My bad, your welcome to buy that all you want then.

I bought one of these tab deals after investigating them a little further. I found the distributor of the device http://www.vkamobi.com/ (which btw usually distributs most of the tabs on these deal sites). Yeah so the deal was the orginal price was somewhere between 400-600 for the two different models. On sale for 120 and 180 respectively. Nice hefty deal. Not really the low end model sells for 69 dollars and the higher end one for just over 100. Thats if you only buy one from the dist. If you buy many units you get a discount of course. Anyhow I bought one in a lark. OMG!!! The device it self was a mess. Just everything about it shouted low quility. The screen was also had a hard time picking up you finger touch. It took about 3 minutes to load Andriod 2.1 and I couldn't find one good thing about it. After using it as the butt of my jokes for about a week I sold it for 15 dollars in a fun filled auction at work. These tabs are always a scam and I haven't seen a single one which wasn't. It's not that they have an older model or anything . These things which are made in China by a company which has no name for themselves are praying on ignorant ppl in North America and full filling a need in poorer nations for a tab device. If your going to buy one as a joke like I did no need to pay 50% more just go directly to the source.
oh and another thing I've noticed the new one in teambuy (http://www.teambuy.ca/toronto/28136423) today is actually being shipped by the distributor as well. So these guys (www.jabz.com) are acting as a pure North American voice. however there website is a pure joke. Fly by night operation.
