las vegas car rentals ... where to pick up car

First time heading to Las Vegas........

Can someone gives me some insight how the car rental structures?

I rented a car with "advantage" online which indicated "in-terminal counter". I would assume that I pick up my car at the terminal. A friend told me that I still have to take a shuttle to pick up my car........

How does it work? Where do I shuttle?

Please help..........

Yes that's correct. The rental companies are slightly off the airport at Vegas. There are car rental shuttle buses which would take you there (no charge).
Once at the rental building, where all the major rental companies are setup, just head over to your reservation company and pick up. I know Alamo allows you to self check or counter.
Once done, head up the escalator to parkade to choose your car (any one of your reservation class). Keys are outside the drivers door.

Many USA airports have off-airport car rentals with shuttles running. Think LAS has a consolidated car rental facility with a common shuttle bus (as opposed to shuttle buses run separately by each company).

Usually there's good signage to follow to right door, shuttle pickup area.

I believe Advantage you actually pick up in terminal as opposed to taking the shuttle to the car rental area.

I may be wrong but I thought Advantage was part of the rental car centre as well.

If you're flying Air Canada to Vegas, you'll land in terminal 2. Just walk out the front entrance and across one lane past the taxis to the shuttle bus stop. The buses come every 15 minutes or so. The drivers are very helpful and friendly. Try to tip them a dollar or two if you can afford it.

Pickup luggage from carousel, look left and right and you will see signs to take the shuttle to the car rental facility.
