The battery door of my Canon Sd1100 came off and I could not put it back. Now the camera does not work.
How could I put it back?
If I can't do it, can any camera store help? How much do they charge any way?

The SD1100 sell used for between $50 - $90. Repair and parts replacement cost could go towards a new camera or a used SD1100.
Cameras have come a long way in the last few years.
A quick search here shows an expired deal for example:
"HOT - Canon SD1300 IS @ Sears for 59.97"

I hate to have to buy a new camera when only a simple part like a battery door came off. The door is not broken. I can try to force it in but I am afraid the tabs would break off.

My mom's SD780's battery door came off once too. I just forced it in there and problem solved.
My guess is that camera repair shop guys are gonna do the same as well since opening up the body may cause more trouble than they want to.

Just tape it shut. The other way is getting a new camera. Canon ELPH 100 can be had for around $140.

I am assuming the battery door holder is hard plastic. You can do 3 things.
Force it (may break)
Somehow put the plastic to a warm (not hot and only for short while) surface so it gets softenened a bit so that when you force it it will not break.
Use a gorilla tape.
If you can't get any results of course last resort is buy another camera.
