Thread worthy? No. But I'm doing it because everyone else does it.

Have been looking at a couple of cars on their used car lot (a couple of Acuras if that matters) with that I decided to visit their dealership tonight and left pretty disappointed.

I rolled into their parking lot and notice a lack of cars, so my girlfriend went in while I was looking at one of the cars that was actually sitting in the parking lot for display.

I enter and am told that the cars were locked up because the snow had to be removed from the parking lot, understandable, but the snow stopped well into the morning and it was 715pm by the time I arrived, I think the cars could have been moved back to display for potential customers. I mean, the two 'car salesmen' were merely sitting at their desk when I walked in, doing absolutely nothing (nothing on their computer monitor - just their desktop).

I'm told, 'I can tell you what we have on the lot', I declined, I know exactly what I'm there for, but was never once offered to visit the cars in lock up. I walked out in complete disappointment. There wasn't even an offer to take me to see the car(s) I was interested in. Kind of a poor display of service in my mind. As I left, and began to think, what was so troubling about simply asking me if I wanted to see the vehicles?

I can understand it may have been late, and I wouldn't have wasted their time, I didn't even need to take the car for a test drive, just a simple look for 10 minutes, in and out.

I don't know. maybe I'm overreacting, but in all honesty, I won't return to that dealership.

Did you ask if you could go see it? They can't read your mind to figure out how serious you are about it. If you're not going to go back just because of this issue, then it seems like you weren't that serious anyway.

Don't know how to quote on mobile, but I'll try to clarify.

I did mention I had familiarity with what they had on their lot. That didn't seem to garner any interest to show me what I had come for.

My girlfriend had asked if they can be seen, again, was told, they're in the back, and we can't get to them.

I had returned from a Volkswagen dealership and headed straight to this one and there were no concerns like the above at the VW dealership, just found it odd.

I remember shopping for cars in the past, I remember the helpfullness of some sales personnel.

Oh well, better luck next time for me I guess.

if you do a search here you'll find that it would be a good idea to avoid most if not all markham/richmond hill dealers.

Most salespeople only really care if you're serious about buying a car. They look at you from head to toe and judge whether you're worth spending their time on.

Plus it's Honda. They're order takers, not salespeople.

I guess it's because you were there at 7:15 pm and they are closing at 8:00pm. They probably thought they don't have enough time to close the sales anyway.

dealership actually closes at 9. that would be a poor excuse as I've seen deals closed in less than 30 minutes.

if you are buying japanese car dont shop in scarborough, markham, richmond hill and other such areas.

the dealers in these areas think you owe them your business.

go to barrie or more north, downtown toronto or out east past ajax.

That's why many car salepeople are such noob idiots. Many middle-aged Asians dress like bums when they go out, but they can drop cash money on an MB E class without even blinking an eye.

Double agreed, there not even willing to work with you if you offer them a price. One thing I have seen though, for the odyssey (what we are in the market for), Honda dealers will not even drop the price 1K and 1K is just the admin fees so...Toyota dealers will, they go down 3K right off the bat (Sienna)
