We should increase the character limit per post from 10k to 100k. It can help on high content postings

respect.
Rather than increase the maximum allowed characters in a post, we should enforce a minimum characters allowed policy to avoid low content posts such as "respect", "+1", "lol", "I agree", etc. Obvious trolling is obvious.

No.....absolutely not.
I think a 10k limit per post is more than sufficient....in fact I think 10K is more than adequate space for any member to create a thread, post an opinion and or reply to another post, etc.
And if a member wants to post in content from another on-line internet source that may exceed the 10k limit per post ...then the member can simply post the most relevant info as part of the 10k post and the source / remainder can simply be referenced in as a link.
You want avoid a situation that occurred recently where a member chewed up 9 posts and over 14,000+ words copying 14,000+ words of verbatim content from another internet site simply to create a new thread - a needless drain on site resources IMO.
Simply citing selected references from that site and a link to that site in only 1 post ( instead of using 9 posts ) would of been sufficient in my view.

It's got nothing to do with ' hate '....I simply disagree with the suggestion..
I just think increasing the character limit per post from 10k to 100k is a bad idea and completely unwarranted.
I suspect 99.9% of the membership are easily able to post everything they wish while keeping will within the 10k limit...so there is no need for more than 10k IMO.
