Looking for a 40inch LED TV

I'm looking for a 40inch 120hz LED TV, preferably a reputable brand. The lowest i see are at least $700-800. I do see some 60hz at around $600 though, but im worried about picture quality since i do watch some sports.

Also i'm a bit clueless on all the gimmicks each brand has, im probably not gonna care as much as long as the price is down. I'm gonna plug my mac mini into the tv so any of that wireless stuff, and youtube crap will be useless anyways.

So what would be a good sale price for this kind of tv? and whats a good place to buy? thank you for any recommendations! :cheesygri

Unless you have a particular need for a 40" screen -- presumably due to a space limitation -- go for something around 46". There is very little difference in price; in fact you may well find 46-inchers on sale for less than a 40".

Stick with LED or LCD only. Plasmas may sell for less upfront, but you'll pay and pay and pay for their extra electricity consumption (they typically use twice as much power as LED/LCD.)

Acceptable brands are Toshiba, Panasonic, Sony, LG, and Samsung. Period. If you buy anything else, you'll regret it in the end.

46 is fine with me too, it's just that I live in a condo and a tv too big will look weird, but i think 46 will not go overboard. I just thought 40s will be cheaper. and yes i am sticking with LED, and considering sony, samsung, and sharp at the moment.
