Video recording Iphone 4 or Android

What are the settings I need to adjust to use my Android phone as a camcorder?
I want to leave the phone recording and keep it from going on standby, sleep, etc.

Also, what are the settings I need to change for Iphones? If I leave it recording, it goes to "standby" after 1 min or so.

I know in the Galaxy Nexus with ICS, in the camera app, there's a standard built in time lapse feature. Might be in ICS itself for future updates within current phones. Otherwise they all record the same 1080P quality. You best might want to research more with side by side comparison of an iPhone 4S vs SGS II/X/LTE, Droid Razr, HTC Sensation and other high end Android phones.

HTC with Android
AND
Iphone 4

I have both....same issue. They turn off on their own after about 1 min of recording.

NS with ICS. Been recording for 2 minutes now, untouched.
