Just moved so I am looking for a new provider

Who has the best deals? or any secret words I can say to motivate CS?

So far all CS has made available to me is:

Telus - Basic Optik TV and Optik 25mbps - $40 for 6 months and $70 thereafter

Shaw- Basic tv and 50mbps- $50 for 6 months and $85 thereafter

And I am not really interested in any type of contract and I don't need free pvrs and ect lol

Just try calling a couple more times.. If they don't budge and offer the same deal then you have no other choice then to take It.

I can't speak to Telus' current offers . . . I never hear of any as I'm already a subscriber. However I get a Shaw flyer with a different offer each month trying to get me to switch back. Nothing in the past several months really amounts to any better value than what you've been offered. That said, do you really need 50mbps broadband??? That'd be the lion's share of your monthly bill and you're going to be left with a lousy selection of TV channels if all you have is Shaw Basic.

FWIW, the most recent Shaw promo mailer I received was Personal TV + Best of HD Pack (whatever that exactly means) + High Speed 10 for $39.90/mo first six; $79.90/mo thereafter. No equipment included.

Be warned that if you go with Telus and decide you want ANY hardware adds or changes after the initial install, they will require a visit to your home by a tech and you'll be dinged a $100 service charge -- even if it's something as idiotically simple as adding a game console.
