Hey guys/girls
I was driving down Lake shore rd in Mississauga in bettween Dixie and Cawthra and noticed a new NICKS FAMOUS SHAWARMAS is opening soon.I saw a couple of flyers around at a convenience store and couldn't help but try and find it and i did yayyyyyy. The new location is in Mississauga ON Lakeshore rd and Lakefront Promenade.Wow Nick is blowing up,besides they should open up couple more they have the best shawarmas in Mississauga TRY IT OUT AND LEAVE A POST THANKS.:)
So tell me, are you part-owner, related to the owner, an investor in the restaurant, all of the above? It's strange that your very first post is used to advertise this place.
I never used to be so skeptical, but RDF forums has ruined me.

Dammit, open one up in NW Mississauga near Meadowvale...Alf Hana is the only shawarma place north of Thomas and West of Glen Erin.
Anyways, Nick's and Osmow's are two of the more popular shawarma places in Mississauga but I find them to be a bit overrated. ALso, they charge I think $6 or $7 for a shawarma which I find to be a bit annoying cos a lot of the other places charge $4-5 for the same thing...not a huge difference but just annoys me.

The best place in Mississauga to go for a shawarma is Queen Street (the one in Streetsville, not Toronto). There's 5 shawarma places within a fairly small stretch of road. Isis Mediterranean Cuisine (Egyptian place) is on Queen/Brittania. THeir shawarma has a neat chicken broth place and it's the best one to sit at and eat because of all the cool things they have on their menu. It's the closest one to a restaurant instead of a shawarma. The owner is basically a chef so he has a bunch of unique types of shawarmas and some other gorgeous looking dishes plus he makes briyani (South Asian rice dish).
Then there are four right around Main Street/Queen....Pita Nutso, Taj Wrap, Osmow's, Piazza Pizza, and a new one opening called Safari Express (not 100% sure if they'll have shawarma's but their other franchise, safari grill on Creditview has them). Pita Nutso has an amazing shawarma mainly cos the sauce they use and the guys who work their are friendly/hilarious. Taj Wrap is new and has really improved, it's a nice clean one to sit at and you get a shawarma wrap+coke for $5. They also have gyros, burgers, and the owner is a really nice guy...they probably use the freshest/best ingredients. Osmow's is really popular but I find it to be slightly overrated. Their shawarma wrap is good though they're probably the least healthiest judging by how it's cooked. It's also the busiest/most crowded/slowest one (Nick's can also be very slow)...not a good place to sit and eat at but try out their wrap.
Pretty much every shawarma place I've been to in Mississauga so far has been good with the exception of the one on Derry/Mavis (their shawarma wrap is bad, but the platter is good) so you can't go wrong, especially with Pita Nutso/Isis/Taj Wrap. The Pita Nutso original Queen Street location is way better than the other ones though so wonder if the same thing will happen with this other place.

Yes there is, they have one in Lakeshore, Brampton, and Milton. I've only ever been to the one on Queen Street. The other ones might be better if they aren't as small/crowded/slow. Pita Nutso has even more around the GTA I think but I can definetely say their original location on Queen is better...I think it's because high school students or whoever work in the other ones. You guys along South Mississauga are lucky, lots of good food. Osmow's uses grilled type chicken so it's not really shawarma chicken and some people don't like that. I don't care as long as it tastes good in a pita bread. But man their sauce is spicy, I always get mild. The olives in a shawarma are also a bit strange but they work. The sauce that Osmow's uses seems really fattening though I doubt the Pita Nutso one is better. Isis and Taj Wrap seem like the healthiest/freshest and least oily.
I'd recommend trying out Alf Hana in Meadowvale Town Centre (one closest to my house). It's not the best or anything and more expensive than the Queen S ones but it's got a unique taste because of their seasoning.

Theres a good shawarma place inside Woodbine Centre (can't remember the name). Its run by two women who are always there everytime I drop by for lunch.

I complained of the same thing when I went there in another thread, the guy doesn't want to sell anything but shawarma. However he also has rice and falafels at the very least which I have also tried. I have no idea what his reasoning is to not advertise anything or have any menu
that being said I do like their shawarma wraps!
