The other day I noticed the Crackle app in the xbox marketplace. It's free and there's a good assortment of older movices and shows.

it's the best app for Xbox 360 I would say. it supports resume/forward also. all u need is US xbox membership and US IP.

I'm running it with no problems with canadian membership and IP
