Hi,
I became interested in accounting, because the profession seemed like it fits my personality very well (since it ranks as top job for introvert). But the problem im noticing is that despite the stereotype, accounting seems not suitable for introvert. I know that to get CA designation, you need to first very competent in terms your grade and also very personable (since you have to deal with clients). So i kind of gave up on being CA. And so obviously i turned my head towards CMA. But the problem with CMA is that it's more managerial and strategical type of stream which i think that it requires you to be outgoing, people-oriented, and creative (which im clearly not). So the job doesnt seem like where you just sit in desk and deal with numbers and technical problems. And i know that there is office politic and a lot of people interaction (if you move up in managerial position). So im just wondering if accounting is suitable environment for introvert nowadays

go do cga. they are more technical then anything i think. most of my friends doing cga just sit in a desk and grind it all day long.

When you work in accounting you need to deal with a lot of people who have no clue about admin/accounting things so yes you need to be able to communicate with these kinds of people and provide explanations to them and problem solve. You also need to communicate with your team members and accountants at other firms/companies. You need to communicate with brokers if your company does any sort of hedging.
Basically, any job out there requires communication, but I would say accounting is one of the jobs that requires the least. Most of your time will be spent answering emails rather than on the phone or in person. This is different if your work in public practice, obviously.
Also, the lower ranked the accounting job, the least you'll need to communicate. i.e. a bookkeeper vs a CFO

What you're looking for are basic entry level accounting jobs. You may be able to get away from not having to socialize from anyone in those positions.

If you think you like the nitty gritty work, try going for a CGA. They are much more technical, and will probably sit at their desk grinding numbers more than the other 2 accounting designations would.

have you considered just socializing more? being an introvert doesn't mean you have to be a mime. people aren't as bad as if you actually talk to them.
i'm an introvert myself but i still enjoy conversations.

CGAs and CMAs basically work the same jobs

CGAs and CMAs basically work the same jobs
Generally no.
But you will find certain jobs that are staffed with CA CMA and CGAs together.
And despite the stereotypes, professional accountants often require to have significant amount of interaction with other people.
