Not an expert but I'm pretty sure big name stores can't carry the product unless they are authorized

Staples is.
Walmart buys their iPods and such from an authorized reseller I think.

Are you asking for warranty sake? im sure they send it in to apple for repairs.

Costco does this for Swarovski. They're not an authozied reseller and cover the warrenty themselves.

Costco carried MacBook Pro for like few weeks with a notice saying that they are not an authorized reseller and you will not receive warranty.

A simple Google search (http://www.google.ca/search?q=apple+authorized+resellers+canada) found http://www.apple.com/ca/buy/locator/
It shows that both WalMart and Staples are authorized, although not necessarily for all Apple products.

Thanks for the apple store locator link, why does it not have "Iphone - sales only" as the pull down option?
thanks
