Folks, I only have Digital Basic with Rogers and I have been watching the Score HD (channel 509) for the past few years, under the belief it is part of a selected group of FREE HD channels Rogers throws in for its digital basic subscribers.

I turned on the TV today to watch an Italian Soccer game on the Score HD and the familiar pop-up was there *Please call 1-800 to subscribe to this channel*

I called Rogers customer service and was told I should not have been getting it for free the past couple of years. It's a mistake on Rogers part and basically if I need to get that channel, I have to up my package to the next level which is Digital Plus.

I checked Rogers website and it looks like the Score HD is still offered as a FREE HD Channel but it has the name the Score HD Toronto. Does that mean this is only digital basic subscribers in the GTA area?

Any input would be appreciated before I call Rogers back, if necessary. Thanks.

It used to be a part of digital basic but not anymore..now TheScore HD is listed under VIP package. I called Rogers too but got the same answer. This is soo stupid..i've had that channel for like last 4 years(since i got HD Box) how come it was a mistake?

No same thing happened to me. No more Serie A soccer or Footy Show. Their hockey coverage is quite bad though.

Sportsnet s the only basic sports channel on Rogers....ridiculous.
