I was very much enthusiastic to go to Wynn fitness at Richmond Hill. I arranged for a babysitter to take care of my 2 kids and went to Wynn fitness in the evening. I see a sales person with a smiling face, who extends her hands to help me out with the registration.

When we first spoke, that sales person asked me if I spoke to anyone before. I told yes, I did yesterday for a minute or 2 and I couldn't complete my conversation with him over the phone. So this sales person takes me inside and talks to me for a while about the membership.
As usual, this sales person tried to sell some deal and finally I decided that I would first try and see how it goes and then get into the membership. I told that person, "look I have the wagjag deal now and I would like to try this for 3 months and see how it goes"

Immediately the sales person said "oh! you talked to the other person on the phone yesterday, and so please get your registration done with him. I have an appointment now with somebody and so I cannot do it for you. Come some other day and get it done from that person."

If by hearing wagjag, if this sales person acts crazy like this, then WHY DOES WYNN FITNESS sells their membership for try out in wagjag?

Isn't my time valuable? Do I have to go again meet up with someone and get registered? Why the hell did I buy the Wynn fitness deal?

what do you guys do in such situations?

These people get paid on commission work based on how many ppl they sign up. They don't get anything out of the wagjag deals so they try to push you onto someone else. I hate fitness gyms period. It's so under regulated that leads to terrible business practices.

A lot of these places just want you in the door to get you to sign up. They also get commission on a sign up. Seems like your trial offer doesn't apply to their quota so they want nothing to do with you. Do note though that during your trial, they'll be all over you getting you to commit. That's usually how it goes.

I'm sure if you get in touch with a manager, they will set you up. The management do want you in the gym trying it out.

this is not even close to some of the other horrible stories about gyms... you just got the brush off, no biggie - you haven't gotten ripped off by them yet - and try not to. Look up some other threads about gyms in this forum, and the group deals forums. You'll think you got off easy.

I would think it is unethical on one's part to behave like that. God save such money minded people!

Being that way is the only way to make a living in those jobs. It's the way the companies want it.

Had a Manager done that yes. This salesperson wants sales so not so unethical but instead impolite.

Use the wagjag, but don't sign up. I did, and once the billing period began they've charged me $82 and $67 (I don't know WTF the second fee is for), and the second month I got charged $82 even though I remember signing the contract stating that I only pay $45 a month :|:|:|

So instead of $90 I paid a total of $231 for two months :|

So much for that three "free" months I got.

I signed up at the RH with the wagjag deal but i was lucky I didnt have to deal with some of their rude employees. The first couple of times I told them I didnt have much time so none of the sales reps wanted to bother signing me up as they would hav no opportunity to sell me a membership. They just let me work out and come back next time. When I finally signed up, I went on a Sunday and got a guy who signed me up without any hassle. I guess working on a Sunday doesn't leave much room for enthusiasm. Based on what I've observed, it does look like the gym has a very toxic environment for their employees.
