Anyone know who carries it frequently? I saw an old post on chowhound saying they saw it at Cumbrae's on Church st. I'd prefer to find another source.

Lol, usually I am the one posting "any asian supermarket" to every question...haha. yes i think pork jowl is the same. I thought I recall seeing them but wasn't sure. I went to Tone tai (foody's little bro) yesterday and didn't see them.

I will look harder.

But $10/lb? yikes....i won't be going to t&t....

For pulled pork you would use the "butt" (actually the shoulder).

Yes, you need the fat and a lot of time...

The usual price I've seen them at Asian supermarkets is $5.99/lb (frozen or previously frozen). It's a nice cut of meat with good fat content, but the one's available are a little too thin to make them good for braising, so I like to cut it into strips, marinate them, stick them onto skewers and grill them on the bbq during the summer.
