some one phones our office and when our staff answers the caller says please wait a second and puts them on hold...then when the "caller" gets back on the phone he usually says we phone them.Is the prankster trying to get those on the phone to argue who phone who first?...I know one caller said he received 5 prank calls already...is this another youtube prank call set up?..

We all have a psychological need to socially interact. This thread you posted has nothing to do with asking your prank call question but more to do with you wanting to socially interact with others. Hi!

It's not a prank, but a scam. You will have to pay premium rate for the call.

That sounds plausible. If a scammer breaks into your telecom system or tricks someone to press certain keys on their own desk phone they can place calls that result in stupidly high per minute costs. Your telco must pay the other telco, therefore, you must pay your telco. Kickbacks galore to the scammers that are in bed with the other telco.
