I'm Surprised that this hasn't been posted yet (I couldn't find it anyway)...
Great deal for anyone who picked up LR3 during one of the recent sales at Adorama or B&H. If you purchased LR3 within the last month or so, Adobe will send you a complimentary copy of LR4.
Just follow the instructions here and someone will get back to you within a day or so to advise if you are eligible:

Got my request approved already & they are shipping me LR4 (I got the $69.99 deal from B&H).

great news! I picked up the recent B&H deal too.
Now I just need to get my photo's off of the iBook and organized on my PC so I put it to better use.

I thought the T&C on the discounted LR3 from Adorama/etc specifically excluded any "free upgrade to LR4". Can't find the URLs any more but I know I read that in a few places..

The proof of purchase qualifications section says that "Receipts showing a product price that is discounted more than 25% off the Adobe retail or educational price" are invalid but I'm hoping that OP's approval wasn't a fluke and the B&H sale is in fact legit. Has anyone else got his/hers request approved? I'm still waiting to hear from them.

Ahhh...was gonna ask about guying LR3 at the educational price and getting the free upgrade and if it was cheaper than $79...guess that answers my question! Thanks.

There's a huge thread over on slickdeals full of people who qualified using the sale price receipts so I think your chances are really good. I had no problem at all--someone wrote back to me within 24 hours, said they had verified my receipt and that I was eligible.
I'm guessing they're a bit overwhelmed now so it might take longer--maybe try asking for an update via their online support chat if it's been a few days since you submitted.
*edit* Here's the link (http://slickdeals.net/f/4032582-FREE-Adobe-Lightroom-4-Upgrade-if-you-purchased-LR-3-recently?)...if RFD allows linking to there that is...

Thanks for the followup. I sent mine on Monday and haven't heard back yet. You might be right about them being busy. I will try to contact them. Thanks again fro letting us know.

I submitted my proof of purchase on Monday and hadn't heard anything. I finally chatted online with a rep just now about my status and he processed it on the spot so I should receive the upgrade in about 2 weeks. Thanks OP!
