Anyone know where you can get ALCAR in Canada? I have been using L Carnitine for 2 weeks and it's amazing. Acetyl L Carnitine is supposed to have better absorption. Can't find any in Vancouver.

really ? good for you. I've been using L-Car, along with CLA for the past 1.5 mths... and it really has not helped much. I've been trying to lose weight for past 8 months through exercising, and changing my eating habits. Plateau'ed about two months ago - thought the L-car & CLA will help me over the plateau. So far, it has not helped.
Maybe I'll give ALC a try. Have you consider ordering from the US, like through bodybuilding.com. I've done a few orders from them - the shipping is expensive, but if you add a few items to the order, and average out the shipping, what you buy would still be cheaper than buying local.

Carnitine and CLA are not effective for fat loss.
ALCAR is taking for it's cognitive improvements. It really has nothing to do with absorption, although ALCAR does cross the BBB.

I tried ALCAR recently and after a week or so of feeling really "sharp" I started getting headaches and a fuzzy head. Tijuana probably knows better but from what I've read you need to supplement with choline as well to prevent becoming deficient in it while on ALCAR.

I'm an older lifter in my 50's. It has improved my stuttering (speach) as well as my bench. I plateaued at 225 for the last year or so and easily put up 230 for 3 reps. I'm taking it with omegas. I've only been taking it for 2 weeks. Get crazy dreams at night too.

What's your diet look like right now? Doing exercise to lose weight is like pushing a rock uphill. You can do it, but for how long? And there are much better ways in doing it. For some bizarre reason, there is such a resistance to paleo eating and if you would look into it, I'm SURE it would push you beyond your plateau. Not to mention, who wants to f@#king diet anyway? Paleo is about eating as much as you want, when you want. Unless of course, your doing paleo now and your stuck...
And please don't bother with supplements. The only effective fat burner I have ever seen was not a supplement...

Not sure if this online store is the cheapest but I've bought purchased stuff from them in the past or you can drop by a popeye's location.

BTW, www.smartpowders.com sells it for cheap in volume. It's a great place for all kinds of powders, but you can expect UPS surcharges.

This is correct, it's referred to as ACh overload.

I've used some of their stuff before - and have ordered some of their acetyl-L-carnitine ; no noticeable difference from the past brand i've used. mental sharpness continues. have also noticed a slight decrease in cravings for food as well as a noticeable ability to bust through a couple lifting plateaus. I read through the comments posted on their site and it doesn't seem like anyone is complaining about quality etc.

Agreed.
Took it for a while. Got headaches. Took it with Choline - mood swings
I didn't notice anything in terms of health or mental benefits.
Sometimes these supps are really good for those that are deficient or have health/medical problems.
Otherwise, for the average person, your jcould just be spending money and it could be going to waste.

Sometimes, if you get something that is cheap, its not pure (in terms of toxins which negate the purpose of taking something for health reasons to begin with) or strong in potency.
