2012/03/08 08:07 MISSISSAUGA International item arrived in Canada and will be reviewed by Customs
Some items may be delayed if held by customs for additional inspection. Canada Post has no information on specific items awaiting customs inspection. Once an item clears customs, it is handed over to Canada Post for delivery. Delivery time depends on the product and the distance to its destination.
Its a nike fuel band any reason why its taking so long for customs to clear the item, it literally just a wrist band lol

Any reason for such a long delay? I bought this as a present for a friend for his birthday which is today and this item (Nike Fuel Band+) isnt sold anywhere but America at the moment.
Thanks

In Canada, whenever it says 1-2 business days, expect at least a week.

Next time you are buying a time-sensitive gift, don't get one from the States. Or outside of Canada in general, for that matter.

How is it being shipped? USPS? If so, keep in mind that once it crosses the border and Canada Post takes over delivery, it's no longer express and will turn into standard delivery.

LOL it wasn't really a rant, it just that I have ordered stuff from across the border hundreds of times with 1-2 days max delay at customs. I'm kinda mad since he was really going to look forward to that gift, but i have a plan B so im safe.
Thanks for all the responses

The problem is that many of the customs officers like to think they are cops and they do stuff like this to make themselves feel important. Its happened to me before

Not directly related to the current thread but I ordered a small kitchen utensil from Amazon.com on Friday. It was shipped across the boarder via DHL ($5 shipping) and I was simply flabbergasted that it arrived yesterday (Tuesday).
Quick delivery does happen on occasion!

I ordered my nike fuel band on 5th got to the border on the 8th at 8am and stuck at customs ever since. These got sold out in the US fast, my good friend from grade 5 was drafted 4th overall by the Cavs and he went to Kevin Durants summer camp. Kevin got a box full from nike so i got one through him. Kevin durant even signed the box which is sick.

Again, how was it shipped? USPS? Fed-Ex? UPS? If USPS, then you paid USPS for speedy delivery, but you didn't pay Canada Post, so once the package reaches the border, it turns into standard delivery, meaning the tracking will be non-existant. If that's the case, then it will likely say stuck in customs until it arrives at your door.
