I been away from Canada for a while and I cancelled my old phone. I have an unlocked old Rogers phone and unlocked US AT&T phone. I will be back to Canada in April for a month. I am looking for a cheap inexpensive option for me to have phone/data service while I am here. I won't use voice much at all, maybe 30 minutes. Data I would say I need about 500MB-1G. What is the best way to go about it? Rogers / Fido / others prepaid? Number is not important to me.

I will be in GTA / Toronto area. Will they allow me to use 500MB - 1G of data per month? Is it unlimited data plan from Wind?

Wind has a couple plans. You can by their internet plan on its own or a talk/text/data plan.
Check out windmobile.ca to see which one works for you.

Yup. Just sign up for Pay Before and as long as you don't top up again, it will not renew.

You need to have a AWS phone to work with Wind or else you'll be on their away network all the time.

The newer T-Mobile phones. The old ones are just 2G. (Won't work on Mobilicity and Wind)

Telus Prepaid has $25 for 500MB and $30 for 1GB data on their HSPA network. (Includes tethering).

If your ATT/Rogers phones are 3G/HSPA capable, then you can use it on Telus PRepaid.
