Anyone of you notice the loud screeching sound between Scarborough town center station and midland station,each time the train passes
My ears maybe too sensitive as the sounds are painful to endure while riding the RT

Used to be much quieter. It's reaching its end of life.
I was a kid when it was new and it was pretty cool back then. Never took it often and last time it was just horrible.
Screechy and shaky.
That's why there has been so much talk about it's replacement with the LRT in the news for the last year or so.

You're not imagining anything. It's a nightmare trying to hold a conversation in that thing.
This is why Scarbarians really want subways because the SRT is extremely loud and dated.
Not to mention that horrible smell between Ellesmere and Midland due to that factory. I feel bad for the people who work there.

Yea that horrible smell is another thing
But the screeching sound is painful to bear
Hopefully the ttc gets the RT renovation done in my lifetime

But the same trains seem to work well in Vancouver.

Lol i always thought someone farted haha. I'm glad i wasnt the only one who noticed the screeching and shaking. Hopefully they'll fix it soon.

As a scarborough resident who takes the RT occasionaly. Yes the noise and smell are unbearable. On the positive note I can talk from Kennedy to Town centre.

The Beijing Airport line that connects the airport to the subway system uses the TTC SRT technology. (Our SRT was a guiny pig for the technology; first in the world to use it)
The ride was fairly loud compared to regular LRT or subway cars, so I'd say it's just the technology.
Can't wait until regular LRT cars replace it.
