I know there is a rule of nothing between 11 PM - 7 AM but what about in the day?
Is it unreasonable to expect to be able to hear no music at all anytime of the day? (And I live in a pretty good soundproofed house but unfortunately I can still here it)

Have you hopped over and asked them to turn it down a bit? Perhaps with windows and such open from the nice weather lately it's causing you to hear the music?
Some people do like to blast their systems a bit because they buy a good system to have good sound but that doesn't make them unreasonable. They may not know that the problem even exists.

There's no point I will probably just get abuse. I am going out soon so hopefully it will be off when I get back.

How about odours? Is there any rule at all? Would somebody get offended if I told them to stop whatever is causing odours to get into my house? Is it unreasonable to expect to be able to be able to not smell any odours any time of the day?

Yes, it is unreasonable to expect zero sounds from neighbours all the time unless you live in a rural area.

True. But OP didn't say "zero sounds". I don't think it's unreasonable to expect not to hear music when you don't feel like listening to music even if it's the middle of the day. If the music is so loud that your neighbours can hear then it's too loud.

Have you asked them before and gotten "abuse"? If not, they may have no idea how loud their music is (as ridiculous as this sounds, some people just have no sense for this) and asking them nicely may solve your problem. Before taking any other steps, the easiest way is just to ask. If you get "abuse", then you can take more serious routes like calling the police.

The topic is just about music, no other sounds.

Actually there is a point, because it often works. I have asked my neighbor to keep one of their TV's down which I can hear through their open window. They do.

People who play their music at an obnoxiously high volume are generally not the type of people who will be reasonable or civil if asked this. These types of people are always less-educated or just immature. No person who was raised properly would play their loud music and disrupt their neighbours.
You should also be careful when dealing with neighbours. They could be the type to hold a grudge against you for making even the slightest comment.

That said, consider leaving a note in the mailbox to notify the tenant/person to, well, not play music so loud. Worth a try, if anything.
Of course, if you're really pressed, ask/phone the non-emergency line of your local police division and ask if they could do it for you. Again, if you really want to try and get that music down.

This is clearly copyright infringement. You should have paid for that music.

You mean piracy. Well, if you wanted to be more specific. ;)

I used to do that when I lived at home and was watching porn in my bedroom. I wanted to hear the sex sounds but didn't want my parents to hear the porn, so I would play music while watching porn. Brilliant. Genius.

Are you my neighbor?
I play music pretty loudly during the days that I have off. But I'm pretty sure no one can hear it outside.
I think it is a bit unreasonable, but then again this is coming from the sketchy dude who plays loud music during the days... :D

Slip them a kind but sincere anonymous letter "Hey, I am a fan of "insert band" too but could you please keep your music down a bit more. I work night shifts"
If that doesn't work speak to your landlord about how much this bothers you. I had a neighbour like this and I didn't say anything because right when I was going to is when they moved out (And coincidentally it was during that last month they were living there that they played music the loudest).
