So I am driving today and the fools can't wait and honk at me. I am making a left turn, cars are coming, I cannot turn until after the light turns red. So many times the cars will run the red light.
Then I am making a right turn, and cars are coming but some fool continuously honks at me to turn. I am not in a hurry and just sat there until every friggin car passed by and then made my turn. Thats right, for pissing me off I waited until every car passed me, hope you are happy now.

So you are the one driving the beige corolla holding back traffic! Well, your antics didn't do you any good! It just made us more road raged! Next time you do that, we are going to throw rotten eggs at you!

While you should not advance just because someone honked at you (you did the right thing). You also should not deliberately slow down just to get back at them (you are wasting your own time).

I miss driving transport trucks. When idiots did that to me, I would go slow and then wait almost an entire light cycle to start moving so they get stuck on the red. I also loved blocking a$shats that decided to drive down the shoulder to get past traffic. I would straddle the right lane and shoulder with my rig. I did that one time in VA, this state trooper pulls next to my drivers door and tells me I have at least 10 cars behind me. I thought he was mad. He told me to get almost to the next exit and pull back into the travel lane so the cars could pass. I got near the exit and there were 5 police cars sitting there. The cop beside me, dropped back and got behind that last car on the shoulder. I pulled back into my lane, and they corralled all the cars at the exit, for what I am assuming were decent sized tickets. lol. That was awesome.

You should finger them the whole time while making them wait so they know you are not turning just to piss them off, otherwise they will just think you are a bad driver and afraid of turning. And make sure you turn late enough so they can't make the light :D
If someone doesn't feel comfortable turning, people shouldn't honk at them. Because if they get in an accident while making a turn they aren't comfortable then it is their fault, not the honker. So the driver should be the one deciding when it is safe for them to turn, not the guy behind him who will take no responsibility if something goes wrong.

Well its better than some people who make a risky turn not letting anyone pass and then ending up totalled (or dead) and stopping traffic for the next 2 hours for everyone else who can't turn there anymore and have to make circles and waste time and gas.

Gotta agree with daikman. I would bet he honked at you because you had several opportunities to turn but like most people are just too terrified to. I really need big rubber bumpers put on. Can't stand some people any more.

If I ever get honked while being REASONABLY fast, the other driver will have a nightmare because I will hound and cut him off until I am satisfied or rather, turn, stop, get out of the vehicle and kick his butt.

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday in Mississauga, opposite Sq1 mall. Green light, I need to make left turn, but must wait for oncoming traffic to clear. A$$hole behind me in his Acura starts honking and is throwing a temper tantrum. When it's safe to go I make my turn, and after he does the same right behind me, his road rage kicks in: rolls down his windows, drives about 6 inches from the side of my car, and begins swearing his fugly head off. I was not sure why he was angry either, I wasn't delaying traffic or anything. Anyone who drives in Mississauga knows that everybody lines up behind green light and takes turns right up until it turns red, and then some. I have molded my style to do the same. But this guy was just reckless.
I've never experienced road rage before, so I did not react at all as I was taken aback. In fact doing anything would have just escalated things and we were in a quiet residential area, so best to let it go. But this guy was revving, swearing and generally being a twit. This entire episode was followed by searching youtube for road rage videos lol.

Also wanted to address the thread title: "Peeps honking at me again".
If it's a common issue with getting honked that, that would be clear evidence it's your driving that is angering people. Just sayin'. ;)

The issue of them 'honking at me again' only happens in brampton, never in areas like mississauga or anywhere else. So what if I took an extra 5 seconds? After the 3rd honk I looked in my rear view mirror only to see him giving me the finger. Meanwhile cars are coming and I should turn, well not now since I got the finger!

hate it when this happens. people behind me just assume that there's no oncoming cars because they can't see them. i just try to ignore them.

You are one of those people that can't judge speeds of oncoming cars, aren't you?! Damn you.. Damn you. Hand in your license right now!!
I hate you with a passion that you can only dream of!

Sometimes the cars are coming fast, easily 90km sometimes, on that road. Thing is I needed to get into the left hand lane, so it was best for me to wait till the cars past by so I would be able to safely make it to the left hand lane instead of having to drag race with the oncoming cars to safely merge with them.
