Alright, I've had my unlocked Samsung S II LTE for 2 months now and the first month with my data was fine, it was 250mb, didnt use it all within 30 days. However, this past week it renewed and already I've used 500Mb+ of data, according to my usage report it says, every 4 minutes an app is using 1326~8kb of data. I have(had) Facebook, Hotmail, Ymail, and Rage Comics running. Is it seriously possible to use up that much data literally with in 5 days with those apps running on the LTE network for roughly 1 to 4 hours a day? PLEASE SOME ONE HELP ME OUT.

What does LTE have to do with data consumption? LTE affects how fast the data is downloaded. It's all about the apps in terms of how much. To be honest, 500 megs in a month is way too little data. Why would anyone get LTE and 500 megs of usage? That is like 3 minutes of usage at full throttle. What are you going to do for the remaining 29 days, 23 hours and 57 minutes?

LTE will encourage you to use more data. Things will load faster resulting in the ability to download/open more things in the same time frame. Also in vids and movies they will automatically stream it to you in a higher quality.
In 1 month I average 2+ GB of data not including wifi. So it seems 1 week for 500mb is reasonable. Try disabliling or enlongating the retrieval time of each app so that they probe less per day.

Buy the 3g watchdog app and it will show you which apps are using exactly how much data.
Secondly in your settings go to "accounts and sync" and shut off background data. That will make it so no apps will have permission to run data in the background (without you having the app actually open). It won't allow you to sync emails throughout the day and you'll have to uncheck that option to download from the market but it will save you some fees.
Your other option and the one I use to just save battery is to download a data toggle widget. Just put it on your home screen and it's one click to turn your data on or off. Saves battery plus nothing can run without you knowing.
You could also back up all your contacts and do a factory reset but you'll lose all your apps
