Received a voice messaging from some one claiming to be a recruiting manager of AIL, and a management team in Ottawa is interested in my resume, at first I was suprised and a bit excited, but after I googled it up, sounds like lot of complaints of AIL (American Insurance Life) recruiting/interview practice. I only put my resume on Monsters, so I guess that is how they find me. My background has nothing to do with insurance or finance or sales or management, just wondering if I should call them back. Any people has experience with them. Or maybe I should at least call them to see (in case I mis-listened the company name)?

Most insurance jobs are sales jobs, if you're comfortable in chasing leads, closing the deal and working on 100% commission, only then should you pursue the opportunity.

And don't get me wrong, if you've been in the business for a while and build up a network of clients who keep their insurance policies in good standing, then you usually get a small % of that premium meaning many successful agents make six figures plus.

Just like real estate, there's successful and not so successful agents.
