Hi guys, I'm just curious if anyone has written an exam administered through email by the federal government of Canada before?
I applied to a technician position at the Ocean/Fisheries department in BC and received an email which indicated that I was chosen for further assessment on specific areas indicated on the statement of merit. The email also indicated that the assessment will be based off the results from an exam administered through email, which I've never heard of before.

I would greatly appreciate if someone with related experience could shed lights on the examination process and how I should prepare for the best possible result. Thanks a lot!

It's not that unusual actually. I did a few for different positions. Not sure about yours but for mine, the test was sent a few minutes before the starting time and you must submit your answer sheet before the deadline. I strongly suggest that you leave enough time to ensure your answer sheet submitted before the deadline. The tests I did were about writing/research skills. It's unlikely that I could prepare for it in a few days or find answers online or somewhere else. I did not do any preparation work for the tests. If you think you need to prepare for some knowledge, maybe you should.

Good luck!
