My wife wants to know at any particular time, where can she get the cheapest diet coke, without looking through all the flyers. Can this be done ?
Thanks.

No such thing that I've ever seen.
Prices on brand-name soft drinks fluctuate more often, and more wildly, than just about any other consumer product. One day a 12-pack of 355ml cans will set you back as much as $6.99, and a day later the same store has it on at 4/$10.
And no apparent rhyme or reason. Why, for example, do all the major brands tend to drop their prices during the summer season . . . . just when you'd think they should be charging an arm-and-a-leg for the stuff?
Probably the closest you'll come to a consistently good deal on DC is to buy the 6x710ml format when they go on special at Shoppers Drug Mart. Same amount of pop, of course, as buying a 12-pack of cans, but with less deposit charge, and they're reclosable bottles so you waste less. Lately they've been having those packs on sale, on average, about every other week. The best prices are usually on their 2-day deals (either Sat/Sun or Sun/Mon) when you buy them at 2/$5.00, and then it generally goes up about 50 cents a pack for the rest of the sale week. In the summer months they go as low as $1.99 on the 2-day deals. That's Western Canada pricing, mind you . . . may be less still from Ontario eastward. Be warned also that not all SDMs participate "enthusiastically" in this particular special as it's purely a loss-leader that only generates a bit of extra traffic and no direct profits. Some locations here in Calgary bring in several pallets of the stuff every time the sale runs, while some others seem to order - literally - a dozen 6-packs for the entire week.

When its on sale somewhere, just buy a ton of it and stash it.

Not everyone has unlimited extra storage space at home
It's a pain to buy it and cart it home in quantity (need to lug around a dolly or hand-truck)
The stores with the best prices are often low on stock when you go to buy, so you're lucky if you can get more than a couple of packs at a time. They also often limit your quantities if it's a really good deal.
Aspartame-based soft drinks (such as Diet Coke) have relatively short shelf lives compared with sugared drinks and taste best within a month of the production date.

Hey, you either pay for the storage space or spend time looking for the deal every week.
That being said, I would imagine that you could get it cheaper if you crossed the border.

Diet soda is horrible!
They use that chemical that imitates poorly the sugar molecule... cant be good for the body...
Aspartame is what keeps me from drinking Sunny-D.. I'll stick to my Grape Drink baby!!! Dat purple stuff at least is safe...
Might as well have a good soda once in a while rather than suffer drinking tut... Just like Mc.Donalds... when they changed the oil that killed it...

Yes, there does seem to be a growing body of argument -- although some of it clearly verges on looney-tunes conspiracy theory -- that aspartame is very bad for you. That said, some of us are and will remain addicted, and if we choose to poison ourselves we at least want to be able to do it on the cheap. :D

Is Sucralose healthier than Aspartame?
Not to diss your suggestion, but I don't like the taste of any of the colas -- regular or diet -- made by Cott (who produce all the house-brand sodas for Walmart, Safeway, Loblaws, Sobeys -- and pretty much every other retailer in North America and Europe.)

Interesting.. I think every Diet Cola brand should use Sucralose instead of Aspartame..:!:
