Went today and dude on the counter told me today was the last day they had to remove the sticker on the window, as of tomorrow no more $5 subs. He went on to say next month is a new promotion.
I told him I frequent this location and he knew that, gave me a student discount. Told him I cannot believe they would pull a ***** move like that but Im guessing their new promo is going to be better.
Either way I figured I'd let anyone know, for those Subs that are still running the $5, afaik its against head office policy and if caught they can get into some serious trouble.

I prefer Subway, too. Most places in downtown TO have $5 footlongs as well. I usually get the honey mustard dessing.

Promos come and go. Many of the subways no longer have 5$ foot longs as well. Some still do though.

I do like miracle whip, yes. I don't think Mr Sub uses miracle whip anyways though , might taste similar but I'm pretty sure it's not miracle whip but rather their own "light mayo"
Whatever it is, yes, I much prefer it over anything at Subway. Dont care if I'm the only one :)

The one on Dundas/Dixie was able to serve beer/alcohol for the longest time. I think it was shut-down or their license was removed. They basically had it for some reason, don't know why but I don't think any one complained :0

How does everybody know its miracle whip? Just by taste? (doesn't it say "Mayo" on their package?).
I'm going to have to try Mr. Sub now since it's been awhile.
Plus, they have the Rib sub!

I like Mr. Sub more than Subway now. Their toasted is actually toasted....not some soggy piece of crap that Subway gives me even though I asked for toasted.

I've never tried but can you ask for double toast? Meaning the person toasts It two times or twice as long? Talking about Subway not Mr.Sub.

I hope their new promotion is just as good. I used to get the $5 assorted from the Mr.Sub around the corner from me and it is way better than subway!

Apparently they had a liquor license due to the high demand from the drivers at the nearby postal facility. Allegedly in their collective agreement they were permitted 2 drinks at lunch. I'd imagine that clause was put in for 'business lunches' and not for drivers. Maybe one of the posties on the board could confirm/debunk it. Several times that I have been in there thee have been uniformed posties drinking beer and marked postal vehicles in the lot.

I tend to avoid both ends but last time I went to subway (This one was just put under new management) when I asked for toppings it was like the guy counted each topping. It was like they were trying to cut costs by being cheap on toppings as the guy put only 4 pieces of any topping down, 4 little pieces of onion, 4 hot peppers, 4 olives.... I was pretty dumbfounded and haven't been back since. At least at any Mr. Sub I've been to they usually lay down the toppings pretty nicely and often will add more sauce/toppings if asked.

I have noticed this at multiple Subway locations but only at one Mr.Sub location (the one by my house) but it is definitely a trend among the sandwich makers.

that's what i was saying, i think people are just assuming its miracle whip because it's got a bit of a tang to it. but i think it's proprietary to mr. sub

i don't mind it. i have no recollection of craving it either.
but the bread is better than mr. sub, and i remember another recent thread where a bunch of people were complaining that there's too much veggie with subway sandwichs, but i don't mind veggies. i usually load mine up with veggies when i do get the $5 special.
