View Full Version : Do you want to separate console and PC game deals?

PCs have different buying places like Steam, Battle.net, Origin, Gamersgate.com, GOG.com and I strongly believe this would streamline game deals for users of both consoles and PCs.
Not everyone who has a PC uses/buys games for their console and vice versa.
Consoles games have a TIV, and and TIV promotions don't apply to PC games.
The gaming experience is difference between the two as well.
Thoughts?
If you vote no please explain why.

No. Most PC gamers still have consoles. If you separate them no one will populate the PC forums. I think there are PC game centric forums though but it's a dying breed. [H]ard seems to be going strong though.

If you can ignore all the trolling involved lots of valid points are made in this thread. (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/futureshop-bestbuy-april6-13-2012-game-deals-1161850/)

I'm just saying that console gaming is a whole different thing than PC gaming. Thats why i dont game on my consoles.
PC also have different buying places like Steam,Battle.net and Origin. I think that PC game deals should be separated.

They're already separated...there are threads clearly titled for TIVs/Xbox Live/Steam Sales etc. What more could you possibly want?

i agree with veejam. they are already appropriately titled. games get the gamrs tag and that is enough.. i suppose it isnt all that much work or triuble for mods to do though sk why not.. i just got a new gaming rig and i would prefer not to have to wade through the deals. thus would make searching a loy more less time consuming for sure.

I'm pretty much the same. Console is for media player, PC is for gaming.
PC is customizable, easier to hook up quality headphones and generally gets the most engine tweaking for discriminating gamers.

so you're suggesting a subforum for PC games? I dunno, i think that really hurts the PC. When it comes to PC deals. I like to stumble across them. For instance while i have no interesting buying Mass Effect for PC if Steam had a sale and it was $2.99 then you darn well bet I'd buy it then and there.. but I'd never see that if it was in a PC subforum.
When I click the GAMES forum I want to see all deals.. PC and Console I don't have an Xbox and those deals I consider way more clutterful than the PC deals. Now I can get behind this if you mean to suggest that deals operate as before, but if I want to see PC only games I can drill down from games and cut out everything else. that's cool. That I can work with. Because if you're a PC gamer you drill down and silence the console noise. but if you're not that hardcore like me i can still see the PC deals and pick up L4D2 when Valve put its up for $1 again.

Hey, I was thinking of making the Games sub forum an actual forum. What are your thoughts about it?

Don't think there's a need to separate the games. Most posters already know to put either source or system in the title already.
