Was talking to a friend about his wedding the other day; she's having a civil ceremony and says it'll only take 30min.

I've mostly been to Christian weddings, and they usually last an hour or so. Is the 30min unusually quick? What's your experience with how long the wedding is?

I think our ceremony was maybe 12 mins? 15 max. Would have been a lot shorter if we didn't include two (non-religious) readings. Of course the overall wedding, which included a cocktail hour and a luncheon was longer.

The last time I was at a civil wedding, it took about 12 minutes. It was very simple and to the point. More like an assembly line.
