I bought a syma 107 helicopter from lightake a while ago. it's dead upon arrival. Contacted customer service they insisted I need to ship it back on my cost first(from canada to china is about $20 maybe? but the s107 is only $19.99...).
I paid through paypal and I already open a dispute case. Just wondering had anyone done this before?
Will paypal stand by my side if I refuse lightake's solution? Cuz I even told lightake I will smash the whole thing and provide pics if they can refund. Just don't want any more hassle like what if next is DOA again...
thanks

I seriously doubt it.

If the merchant says they are prepared to accept returns then you must ship the item back to them and give them the opportunity to make good on their promise, failing which you are entitled to nothing from PayPal or your credit card issuer.
Unfortunately these policies have created a whole scam industry over in Asia, consisting of sellers who deal in low-quality and often known-defective merchandise (they buy factory rejects), selling it to unsuspecting Westerners with a supposed "money back guarantee". They know full well you'll never bother sending their junk back to them because of the high cost. The odd person who's dumb enough to actually ship it back gets suckered twice, because now they're out the original purchase cost plus the return shipping cost, and the seller never actually does issue a refund or send a replacement product (and neither PayPal nor the credit card companies will get involved at all at that stage of the process.
So just kiss your $19.99 goodbye, lick your wounds, and move on with your life. Consider it a lesson learned. Next time, go to the mall when you want to buy a toy helicopter.

If you do decide to talk to PayPal, you must phone them. Other forms of communication are useless.

PayPal won't side with you because you received your item, and the merchant offered you a replacement.
