I've been looking for some decent deals for a trip to Orlando, FL from Calgary, about 10 days...end of April.

Anyways, for the past 4-5 days, same hotel, same flights, same car and the price would change anywhere between $740 - $880, finally last night it was $800 even and I thought I'll wait one more morning and book it - well guess what, this morning it's $955...
So, are there better/cheaper days to book trips with Expedia.ca? For example is it cheaper to book on a Monday rather than Friday or something like that if it makes sense? What does drive these price variations, on almost hourly basis not to mention daily?

Thanks

prices went up a lot in a few days. Even i was looking at a trip to San Diego mid may and i had flights from 480$-500. Now the cheapest one I can find is around $600 and the non stop AC one i found for $500 three days ago is now $700 :-0:mad::(

You snooze you lose

From all my travel research, booking onhttp://www.flightnetwork.com/ seems to be the way to go. If your trip cost goes down, they give you a credit for your next one. Plus, you can redeem travel points with them. Their interface is good, and shows every single travel agency. Otherwise, try browsing all the links on the sticky on Travel's first page.

Good luck! Btw, I jumped on a deal last weekend for Oct. Had I waited even 1 day, the 2 weeks sold out, and the 1week went up $740pp. When you see a price you can live with, it pays to book it then.

It's not always this way, but traditionally a lot of people begin to make travel booking:
After X-mas and into the new years
Around March Break, more for people with school age kids
Around Easter

Before each of these, people are busy getting ready for those holidays and put off researching and making decisions. Then then what's supposed to happen for those holidays, get finalized, their anxiety subside. They then begin to think about the next dates for travel. So a lot of bookings get made. With demand going up, supply goes down and prices go up.

Guess what, we just had the Easter long weekend.

These should be merged with the threads complaining that the price went down and asking for a refund/credit.
