Any recommendations for a decent bar or hang out spot by dundas square that can hold a group of 25+? Was initially planning to go to Bar + Karaoke tomorrow night but after calling their number right now, it seems they are closed till the 20th, since they are moving or something.

All I know is Jacks and HardRock, but any suggestions for other maybe not as wellknown places? I've researched and seen Imperial Pub and Ram in the Rye by ryerson but I have never been to either.

ended up going to Imperial Pub. our group was situated in the upstairs/library area. average downtown prices for food/alcohol. food was a little slow, interms of it taking like 20-30 mins just for fries for example :S but it was busy as well I guess. i got wings as well and it was nothing special to say the least. staff was nice and apparently they give away bags of homemade popcorn for free.

I've walked around the inside of that building, I've had a homeless guy walk in, grab my beer, chug it and run away, and I've seen people puke in the corner and (probably) die in their seat. I can't imagine what the kitchen is like.

I actually enjoyed going to that bar, but my god is it a dive sometimes.

sometimes? more like all the time.

i've been there a few times. the downstairs is ghetto-tastic and upstairs is cluttered, stuffy and full of hipster yuppies

i cant comment on the food though

Aren't those usually the best? Or so I've heard... I've been to my fair share of dive bars on Queen west, downtown back when I was doing my post-graduate.

haha I actually now just remember than one of our empty glasses we were given for our pitchers looked dirty. had to get ask for a new one.

so far, turned out ok and didn't have any upset stomach issues. only ate there because I was in a rush and did not have time to pre-eat somewhere else downtown. probably won't go to that bar again though, only went due to need of large venue near dundas square.
