Ok, my wife is struggling with her phone.

It's an LG Optimus-T that I got on Fleabay. It works ok (for me) but it's just a bit too laggy for her - I can compensate but she just wants it to work. Fair enough.

The phone she had a few years back that she loved was a Palm Centro. Old school Palm.

She's a google girl so that of it being Android is great for her, but she'd like a (responsive) keyboard.

I'm thinking Blackberry but have no experience with them at all - not sure how well gmail, google calendar and all that stuff works on a BB?

Price not hugely an issue if it solves her problems - she uses her phone a lot and gets a lot of value from it. Resistance to damage from dropping would be good...

Reason I say quadband is that we're moving out of the Wind coverage area in a few months. It might still be cheaper to be on Wind though... I'm on Wind PAYG and I think I will stay that way even when I live Wind Away. But we'll see for her - she's currently on the unlimited Christmas plan for $40+tax from a couple of winters back.

So: Are there any good quadband android phones with a keyboard? Or perhaps just a really nicely responsive touchscreen?

She was using her friend's iPhone the other day and wasn't hugely impressed, apparently, so maybe keyboard is the way for her.

Any thoughts?

Cheers!

I think you mean pentaband. In which case, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy SII X, HTC Amaze.

check the hot deals thread to get your hands on a sgs ii x from telus and unlock it for use on wind. just run tweakker to get the apn settings loaded.
