We had my daughter's passport made when she was 2 months and we are planning on travelling in about two weeks to Dubai and Malaysia. My daughter is now 1 year and she looks nothing like her picture in the passport. I know Passport Canada gives a new passport for free with a new picture for such cases, but I wanted to know if it is actually needed? Will we be harassed on our trip because of the picture? Would it be safer just to get a new passport?

My daughter had her passport when she was 4 months and she is now almost 3 and her passport is expiring in a couple of months. We traveled when she was 6 months, 1.5 yrs and 2+ yrs and never had any issues. We are planning to travel again to the us next month and I called passport Canada and they said it should be fine and I should just renew her passport when she is 3 and she will be issued the 5 year passport.
