Thats a pretty rude thing to do. I dont get why people set up meetings and dont show without at least calling or texting you that they arent showing up. Some people use the excuse of wanting to avoid verbal confrontation so then just text them.

Happens on Kijiji to me alot of the time. I wish we could have a DNS (Does Not Show) rating to see exactly how many times people do this. Probably not practical but would be nice.

First thing in the morning part kills me. Especially if you have to work after. Just puts you in a bad mood for the day.

Much as I hate no-shows, this doesn't deserve to be in the scammer section. You weren't scammed.

What I do is check with people when I'm headed to the meet point, but it's still no guarantee. I've had a guy text me while driving from Mississauga to Markham that he got a higher offer and that our deal is off.

People will flake out for a number of reasons, but you need to expect that when dealing this way, unfortunately. It is a distinct thing from being a scam.

The "warning" is to warn others of potential scammers and scams. Not to warn about no shows. I believe they have closed threads in the past for this reason.

I do believe this section (or another one be made) to warn of those who do not show should exist but it is currently not here.

This is not a place for warnings about no shows. Right at the top of this forum it is outlined.

This forum is meant to help make it easier to avoid scammers. This forum is not for petty complaints like "UserX showed up an hour late for our trade" or "UserY backed out at the last minute".

You should only create a new thread here if a trader has or has tried to rip you off.

Be reasonable, sometimes people do get sick/go on vacation/have car trouble. Please only create a thread when you know you have been ripped off.
