404 error not found? I wouldn't mind one that syncs with transferring between Google Docs.

well it's still more than dropbox's sign up volume of 2GB. Though smaller than services like Minus which was 10GB (but don't have folder synching; you have to manually upload). Yes we use adsense to bump out dropboxes up but honestly if it functions well enough 5GB is not a bad deal.

It may not have been rolled out to every account yet but I checked mine and it was upped to 5GB.

I have more than 5gb on dropbox just from uploading media files alone, and mesh has it 25gb so I got it covered, that said, I might use google drive as an addition since I already use google for a lot of stuff.

does your screen (redirect) show "Welcome to Google Drive!
To get started, install Google Drive on your PC. Then add files to Google Drive on your PC and they'll automatically sync to My Drive."
click Install Google Drive for PC (button)
you get 5GB from the start

Personally, I'm disappointed by this. I was hoping for something more like SugarSync, which I'll be sticking with for now. (send me a PM if you want an extra 500MB when you sign up with SugarSync)

wow they really jacked up the price! I have 20GB already on Google drive and they charge me $5/year
Everyone else has to pay $25 year for 25GB? :|

Skydrive downgraded from 25GB to 7GB. Hopefully Microsoft will keep the grand-fathered accounts but I heard they will take that away at some point.

They can't do that!...well they can but it would be a PR disaster! What are they gonna do erase people's content?
the 7GB is a scare tactic IMO, to get people to adopt to Skydrive!

They can do whatever they want, but they have to accept any potential PR disaster - similar to pbase.com changed to a paid-only photo site. To be fair, 7GB Skydrive is still the best of the bunch right now. I hope offiical Android support will be available soon.

Anyone else sticking to Dropbox? With all the ways to make extra space, university email addresses and referrals (Adwords) you can easily make quite a bit of space.

I'll use all of the services, mainly for online encrypted backups. For the few unencrypted files I keep in the cloud, I'll probably keep on using Dropbox, just because it's what I'm used to using.
And just so you know, a university email address no long matters. A few weeks ago Dropbox increased the amount of space non-university users get from referrals to be the same as university users.
