Really tempted to sell my 50 f1.4D and replace it with this lens instead. The 50 is just a little too long on my D7000 for when I want to shoot indoors or when I'm just too lazy to lug around my two zooms. Curious to see what the reviews will be once the lens comes out.

Anyone else here interested in this? I'm surprised Nikon threw a Gold ring on this lens :lol:

This looks like a really nice lens and I guess you're looking to go FF sometime so you're ruling out the 35mm dx. It really is a superb performer at a good price. Even works very well on the D800 with its 1.2 crop factor option.

Still, I'll agree with you, this new 28mm looks mighty fine.

35 1.8 is amazing on FF.

Looks good, but for a fraction of the price the 35mm f1.8G probably is just as good or close to it. Then again, I'm not picky :)

Holy ish $750 retail on the lens.

Looking for a 35mm 1.8g but I would have considered this if the prices were similar.

I used to have the 35mm f1.8. It was an excellent lens but it did have short comings. My biggest gripe with it was the slow autofocus. If this 28 has autofocus similar to my 24-70 then it would be a big winner in my books, although it looks to be almost twice the length of the 35mm. We're just gonna have to see when it comes out

I've placed my order for this lens through NPS. I should be receiving mine 2nd or 3rd week of June according to the Nikon rep.

Tried the new 28mm at Henrys show yesterday and quite impressed. The autofocus is not slow and almost no distortion. I prefer this new 28mm to 35mm f1.8 for event shooting but the high price point stopped me acquire one now.

Just picked it up yesterday from Aden, best price according to photoprice.ca
hopefully will have some time to shoot this weekend
