Interesting that they're recycling model numbers. As it happens the Canon Powershot S100 was their first pocket digital camera. It came out in May 2000. FWIW I bought one when they came out. It cost $600 or $700 IIRC.

interesting, if i price match BB or FS and then use their recycling program, will it work? this will make the camera $350 - which is VERY good!

I am also looking to buy this camera! Ironic...I own the original s100 and am upgrading to this one! I was also wondering if Aden camera would price match.
Can you please tell me about the recycling program? $350 would be PERFECT.

I'm not sure if they will let you combine the programs.. they might.. its worth a shot

I own the original s100 and am upgrading to this one!
I would send an e-mail to Canon (probably to a sales or marketing contact), point out the irony, and ask if they have any upgrade incentives for loyal S100 users like yourself. I'd be surprised if they didn't offer you something.

I'd do that myself but I gave away my S100 a few years ago.

I stopped by best buy today. they were ready to price match with me for aden camera, but then I remembered about the eco-trade in swap.
This weekend Best Buy will accept old camera for a discount from Samsung and Sony. Futureshop will do it with Canon cameras. I'm going to try later this week! Trading in an old olympus for a $50 credit toward the s100. wish me luck...

talked to FutureShop guys yesterday - they will not combine discounts, so no way to reduce the price by price match and then trade in old camera toward the purchase...
well, at least i tried.
