A robbery happened near work yesterday, and the suspects were caught in the afternoon:
http://www.timescolonist.com/news/Robbery+suspects+arrested+roof+Victoria+hotel/6526255/story.html
Other than people getting pepper-sprayed, no other reports of injuries.
Simon was grateful to passersby who took cellphone pictures of the two men, called 911, chased the suspects and helped his shaken employees.
So, my question is: what would be your first instinct if you had witnessed the robbers fleeing the scene? Would you go help the victims? or Would you give chase to the robbers so you'd become a valuable witness to their eventual capture?
- You have a "good quality" (does not produce blurry photos in this situation) camera on hand and ready.
- You didn't hear a gun shot, but you're not sure if the suspects were armed or anybody was shot.
- Suspects are fleeing on foot.

help the victim, then go for the robber.
lets say a victim gets shot and the robber is fleeing.. whats more important? being there for the guy bleeding to death or chasing after armed criminals just to be a hero and boost your ego?

None of the above, I'm not bullet proof nor risking my ***** for anyone. It's simply not my problem and whatever was taken can be replaced by insurance.

None of the above. I am not a Terminator to chase people around and administer lethal justice.

Get footage, and help victims. Actually chasing down the robbers is too dangerous.

I did say you have a camera ready, so physical chase was not a required thing to do to track down the suspects.

 A person's life can't be replaced by insurance. I agree that you shouldn't completely disregard your safety. But if the robber's running away and you've made the evaluation that you probably wouldn't be in danger, surely you can go over and help the victim.

I would rob the victim of whatever the robbers missed...and then take off myself...
LOL...jk....
I would make sure the person is ok...snap pics (or vice versa if I am not close the victim at first) and then call the poposs.....

If the police are on the scene, no I wouldn't help.
Even if the police were on the scene. 3 people executing a robbery is not something I would involve myself in.

Honestly, I'd probably be looking on the ground for a few dropped diamonds myself.
That's technically not stealing is it?
That's more like finders keepers.

Chase down the robbers. Subdue one, like a boss.
I wouldn't bother taking pics because everyone else is already doing it to upload to their Facebooks and Twitters

Depends on the situation - armed/unarmed - known/unkown, victims, are they injured, etc.
If someone was badly injured I'd help them and let the guys run. If nobody was in rough shape and no guns visible or anything I'd chase after them.
