Hey

I'm using a camera (AE-1) that has a max shutter speed of 1/1000 so it is impossible right now to shoot at a low f-stop in broad daylight. Would an ND filter be worthwhile? If so does anyone know of a shop in Toronto that sells them from $30 or below? How do I size the filter according to my lens?

Thanks!

Check out the Cokin P filters on ebay.

I used an A-1 for several years and never felt constricted by the shutter, similar to yours. A bright daylight reading will give you 1/1000 @f/3.5, with an ISO 50 film. And there are still ISO 25 films available if you need f/2.5
I would use a polarizing filter for all you need at waterfalls, and it doesn't even need to be CPL.
The filter size is usually printed on the lens.
